The Legal Executive

Reporting on CILEX and the legal executive profession

Accreditations

A practice right says what a regulator has authorised somebody to do. An accreditation says what a specialist body has assessed them as good at, and the two are separate things. 210 people on the CILEX registers claim at least one named scheme on their employer's own profile page.

This is the thinnest coverage on the site and the caveat is the point. 210 of 11,603 is under two per cent. It counts what a firm chose to write on a web page, so somebody holding a STEP diploma whose firm publishes no biography is invisible here — and an absence from this page is no evidence at all. Unlike the register, none of it is independently verified: the scheme's own directory is the place to check.

Only schemes with eight or more people get a page. Counted by matching each scheme's own name in the biography text — not the word "accredited", which appears in 389 biographies and usually names nothing. 223 claims across 9 schemes.
